Hi all Sarranuva here and I’m back again with another video.
For some players of World of Warcraft, the game is enough for us, but for others, we like to use the hundreds of websites dedicated to making the game easier, and that is something I want to cover today.
I have an extensive bookmark collection of World of Warcraft websites that I use regularly but there are six that I use on a daily basis and I want to share them with you.
Before I do that, I would love it if you could join me over at twitch where I am streaming every Friday @ 8pm GMT. Drop me a follow so you can be alerted when I go live. It would be great to see you in chat where you can tell me what content you want to see as well being part of my growing community!
First up is one that the majority of WoW players know and it needs no introduction – Wowhead.com. A staple of any WoW players website visits, Wowhead is perfect for identifying items, their drop zones, the best mobs to grind for the drops as well as solving issues with quests and many other things. Their commentary and pre-release content are second-to-none and is a go to for any World of Warcraft player – new or old!
You can get lost in many different areas of Wowhead including their guides for raids and professions, their class guides and their community section.
Quick spoiler: I might be doing a video soon on areas of wowhead that you’re not aware of!
Number 2 on my list is transmog related and is a fantastic resource for planning your perfect transmog set. Draynee’s WoW Mog Companion over at wowmogcompanion.com allows you to look for transmog sets, custom player sets as well as searching for items by colour to really help you find the transmog set you want.
Personally, I love just looking through the array of styles in the armor items. For example, you can narrow down Plate helms by the type of helm. So if you’re into animal heads, caps, collars crowns etc, then Draynee’s WoW Mog Companion is just the website for you!
Number 3 on the list is goldmaking related and is Undermine Exchange. This replaced the Undermine Journal which was a central repository of up-to-date auction house data from servers across regions and realms. The Undermine Exchange (formerly called the Oribos Exchange), is a little more simplistic and emulates the standard WoW Auction House UI but it still packs a punch with its data.
It’s the perfect tool for keeping an eye on items of interest – for example the Elemental Lariat – and it allows you to see which realms have the lowest price for that item which can help you plan a sneaky snipe and transfer across servers. If you want to find out how to do this in more depth, I suggest you check out my previous video Make Millions of Gold Selling Recipes Cross-Realm (without a character transfer) which I’ve linked above.
Number 4 is one for the goldmakers and the pet collectors out there! The Magpie is the team mascot of Newcastle United, so as a Geordie, the website Pet Magpie is a little more special to me than most. That and the fact you can quickly see the cheapest pet that you are missing from your inventory!
This is done by linking your Battle.Net and Pet Magpie can load your owned pets which can allow you to search for pets you own or do not own in order to see most profitable or cheapest respectively.
One benefit of the tool is that you can also select where you have duplicates so you can sell your excess stock of battle pets.
Another additional benefit of the website is that you can create an alert for when new pets come to market that are missing from your inventory that are under a certain gold cost. This allow you create a watch list of your most desirable or your most profitable pets that you’re looking to acquire!
Number 5 is Warcraft Recipes or Recipe Smithy and is my go to website for recipe completion.
You can search for any character on any realm and see which recipes they own or are missing. You can then filter by acquisition method such as reputation, drops or currency and plan out which recipe you want to acquire – especially if you’re a completionist like me.
You can also use Recipe Smithy to filter by mounts, pets and toys if you’re really interested in owning potential gold making recipes etc.
There is one slight issue with the website and you cannot filter by unobtainable. For example, you cannot filter by faction locked or class locked recipes that you cannot acquire on your current character, but that’s a small prize to pay to quickly see what you are missing.
Lastly, we have another staple of any wow player who takes gearing semi-seriously – Raidbots. Also known as SimCraft or SimulationCraft, Raidbots allows you to see which of your currently items are your Best in slot, which items you should upgrade and which enchants and item enhancements you should be using to maximise your DPS.
This is great if you’re serious about the DPS you are doing in raids or mythic+ dungeons and helps out massively in helping your guild or friends progress on content by ensuring you are wearing the very best gear at your disposal.
One additional benefit of Raidbots is that you can use an upgrade checker to see which items you should aim for my profession, raid or dungeon to really help you prioritise what you should be aiming for!
There is a paid element to the tool that allows you to simulate your search quicker and jump the queues, but if you’re only interested in one-offs, then that is just enough
And that’s it – a quick video showing 6 WoW websites I cannot live with out!
